Ingredients for Bacon And Mashed Potato Sandwich

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 2 medium russet potatoes, 2 tablespoons butter, 1/4 cup milk, salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • Smoked Turkey Breast
  • 4 slices of your favorite bread

How to Make Bacon And Mashed Potato Sandwich

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast 4 slices of your favorite bread to a golden brown.
  3. Cook 4 slices of bacon until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. While bacon is cooking, prepare mashed potatoes: Boil 2 medium russet potatoes until tender (about 20 minutes). Drain well and mash with 2 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup of milk, and salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Roughly chop the cooled bacon. Add it to the mashed potatoes along with 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently until combined but still slightly chunky.
  6. Spread the bacon and potato mixture evenly over 2 slices of toasted bread.
  7. Top each with 2 slices of turkey and 1 slice of Swiss cheese.
  8. Cover with the remaining slices of toast.
  9. Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch carefully to prevent burning!
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
