- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- French Fried Onion Rings
How to Make Awesome Spinach Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook 1 (10 ounce) package of frozen chopped spinach according to package directions. Drain thoroughly and squeeze out excess water.
- In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of margarine over medium heat. Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup and 4 ounces cream cheese. Cook, stirring frequently, until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cooked spinach.
- Add 1/2 (4 ounce) can french fried onions and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
- Top with the remaining 1/2 can of french fried onions.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
