Ingredients for Bailey S Hot Fudge Sauce
How to Make Bailey S Hot Fudge Sauce
- Melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate squares, stirring occasionally until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1/3 cup evaporated milk to the melted chocolate mixture. Whisk vigorously until fully combined and smooth.
- Stir in the remaining 2/3 cup granulated sugar and 2/3 cup evaporated milk. Whisk until completely smooth and well incorporated.
- Return the saucepan to medium-low heat. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened slightly and is glossy. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and let the hot fudge sauce cool slightly. Pour into sterilized canning jars or airtight containers. Allow to cool completely before sealing and refrigerating.
- This recipe can easily be doubled to make a larger batch.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
