Ingredients for Artichoke Cheese Spread

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • Green Onion Top
  • 14 ounces canned artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Juice
  • Ground Red Pepper
  • Roasted Red Pepper

How to Make Artichoke Cheese Spread

  1. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and chopped green onion tops. Mix until well blended.
  2. Set aside a third of the cream cheese mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped artichoke hearts, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Line a 4-cup glass bowl with plastic wrap, leaving some overhang to help with inverting later.
  5. Spread one-third of the reserved cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of the prepared bowl.
  6. Layer half of the chopped roasted bell peppers over the cream cheese, followed by 3/4 cup of the artichoke mixture, and another third of the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Repeat layers with the remaining roasted bell peppers, artichoke mixture, and the final third of the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably longer, to allow flavors to meld.
  9. To serve, carefully invert the bowl onto a serving plate. Remove the plastic wrap.
  10. Serve the artichoke cheese spread with bread slices, lettuce leaves, and bell pepper strips for garnish. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
