How to Make Basil Marinated Steak
- In a large non-metal bowl or resealable food-grade plastic bag, combine all marinade ingredients (see below).
- Whisk the marinade thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well combined.
- Add the steak to the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated on all sides.
- Cover the bowl or seal the bag tightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the steak to fully marinate.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 375-400°F). Clean the grates thoroughly.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Place the steak on the preheated grill grates.
- Grill for 10-15 minutes for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness, turning once or twice. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches your desired internal temperature (130-135°F for medium-rare, 140-145°F for medium).
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Once rested, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Basil Marinated Steak!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
