How to Make Ground Beef Cabbage Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine 1.5 lbs ground beef, 1 medium onion (chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup, 1/2 cup beef broth, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
- Place 1 medium head of cabbage (thinly sliced) in the prepared casserole dish.
- Pour the ground beef mixture evenly over the cabbage. Do not stir.
- Cover the casserole dish with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the mixture is bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serve hot with crusty cornbread.
