Ingredients for Hamburger Bean Soup

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Pork And Beans
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • Butter Beans
  • Small White Beans
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Sliced Mushrooms
  • Brown Sugar
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Garlic Salt

How to Make Hamburger Bean Soup

  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef, 4 slices bacon (chopped), and 1 medium onion (chopped) in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef into small crumbles. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened (about 8-10 minutes).
  2. Drain off any excess grease from the skillet.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to a 6-quart slow cooker.
  4. Add 2 (15-ounce) cans of kidney beans (drained and rinsed), 2 (15-ounce) cans of pinto beans (drained and rinsed), 4 cups beef broth, 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained), 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  5. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the beans are tender.
  7. Before serving, taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley or a dollop of sour cream if desired.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
