How to Make Herb Marinated Feta With Olives
- In a small skillet over medium heat, toast 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
- Transfer the toasted spices to a medium bowl.
- Add 8 ounces feta cheese (crumbled), 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme, 1/4 cup pitted Kalamata olives (halved), and 2 cloves garlic (minced) to the bowl.
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 24 hours, or up to 1 week. The longer it marinates, the more flavorful it becomes!
- Before serving, bring the feta mixture to room temperature. Serve with baguette slices, crostini, or vegetables for dipping.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
