How to Make Microwave Pecan Pralines
- In a 2-quart microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup packed light brown sugar and 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream.
- Microwave on high for exactly 13 minutes. The mixture will be very hot!
- Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave (use oven mitts!). Stir in 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 cup pecan halves (or walnuts).
- Mix vigorously for about 1 minute, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of praline mixture onto wax paper. Allow to cool completely before serving.
- Store cooled pralines in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
