- Coarsely chop 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate.
- In a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the chopped chocolate, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1/2 cup of strong brewed Folger's coffee.
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly and gently, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. (Do not boil).
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
- To keep warm, place the saucepan in a larger bowl filled with hot water (double boiler method). Ensure the bottom of the saucepan doesn't touch the water.
- Transfer the warm fondue to a fondue pot or a heat-safe serving bowl. Continue to keep warm using the double boiler method or a low heat setting on the stovetop, if using a heat-safe bowl.
- Serve immediately with an assortment of dippers such as strawberries, marshmallows, pound cake cubes, biscotti, ladyfingers, or your favorites. Offer fondue forks or bamboo skewers for dipping.
