Ingredients for Baked Beans With Pineapple

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Baked Beans
  • Crushed Pineapple
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

How to Make Baked Beans With Pineapple

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet with the bacon grease and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the drained baked beans, drained pineapple chunks, cooked bacon, and sautéed onion.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and ketchup.
  6. Pour the brown sugar and ketchup mixture over the bean mixture and stir well to combine.
  7. Grease two 3-quart or one 13x9x2-inch baking dish.
  8. Pour the bean mixture into the prepared baking dish(es).
  9. Cover and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Uncover and bake for another 25-35 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through, and the beans have reached your desired thickness.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
