Ingredients for Beef Stroganoff No Sour Cream
- Beef Tenderloin
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup water
- Dry Onion Soup Mix
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- Fresh Mushrooms
- Noodles
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
How to Make Beef Stroganoff No Sour Cream
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Heat until just below the smoking point.
- Season 1 lb beef tenderloin, cut into 1-inch strips, with salt and pepper. Sear the beef in batches until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- Add 1 cup water and 2 packets onion soup mix to the pan.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper and 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced. Bring to a low simmer and cook until the liquid is reduced by about 1/3 (approximately 15-20 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- If the sauce is too thin, whisk in 1-2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour until desired consistency is reached.
- Return the seared beef to the pan. Heat through completely, ensuring the meat is warmed through and the sauce coats evenly.
- Serve immediately over 1 lb hot buttered egg noodles. Garnish with 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley and enjoy!
- (Optional) For extra richness, stir in 2 tablespoons of beef broth before serving.
