Ingredients for Hot German Buttered Noodles
- 1 gallon of water
- Chicken Bouillon Cubes
- Wide Egg Noodles
- 6 ounces (170g) butter
- Fresh parsley (optional)
- Ritz Crackers
How to Make Hot German Buttered Noodles
- In a large pot, bring 1 gallon of water to a boil. Add 1 Maggi chicken bouillon cube and stir to dissolve.
- Add 1 pound of egg noodles to the boiling water. Cook for 1 minute longer than the package directions indicate, stirring occasionally.
- While the noodles cook, prepare the butter sauce: In a microwave-safe glass measuring cup, combine ½ cup water, ½ Maggi chicken bouillon cube, and 6 ounces (170g) of butter.
- Microwave on high for 45 seconds. Stir well.
- If the butter is not completely melted, microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until the butter and bouillon are fully dissolved and smooth.
- Once the noodles are cooked, drain them thoroughly (do not rinse). Immediately add the butter mixture to the pot.
- Toss the noodles and butter sauce together until most of the liquid is absorbed (about 1 minute).
- Serve immediately, garnished generously with crushed Ritz crackers and fresh parsley (optional).
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
