How to Make Joy S Lasagna
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Position oven rack in the middle.
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add Italian sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until fully cooked and no longer pink.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.

- Top with half of the mozzarella slices, half of the ricotta mixture, and another third of the meat sauce.
- Repeat layers: noodles, mozzarella, ricotta mixture, and remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 35 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is golden brown. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before serving.
