Como fazer Cranberry Liqueur
- Combine 2 cups fresh cranberries with 2 cups granulated sugar in a large saucepan.
- Add 1 cup water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and boil for 4-5 minutes, or until cranberry skins begin to burst.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely.
- Transfer the cranberry mixture to a large, clean jar. Add 1.75 liters (7 cups) of high-quality vodka. Seal the jar tightly and shake vigorously.
- Infuse the liqueur for at least 7 days in a cool, dark place, shaking or stirring gently once a day.
- Line a fine-mesh sieve with cheesecloth and place it over a large bowl. Pour the cranberry-vodka mixture through the sieve, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Let the strained liqueur rest for 3-4 days undisturbed.
- Carefully decant the clear liqueur from the top of the jar into a clean jar, leaving the cloudy sediment behind.
- If desired, strain the sediment through a coffee filter or fine paper filter to recover additional clear liqueur and add it to the decanted liqueur.
- Add 2 additional cups of granulated sugar to the decanted liqueur and shake vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Allow the liqueur to clear overnight, undisturbed.
- Bottle the cranberry liqueur and store in a cool, dark place. Enjoy!
