How to Make Grape Freezer Jam

  1. Crush 4 cups of ripe grapes (seedless recommended) in a large bowl.
  2. In a medium bowl, measure 7 cups of granulated sugar.
  3. Add the sugar to the crushed grapes and stir well to combine.
  4. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine 3/4 cup of water and 1 3/4 ounces of Sure-Jell fruit pectin.
  6. Bring the pectin-water mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  7. Boil and stir vigorously for 1 minute exactly.
  8. Remove the pectin mixture from the heat.
  9. Immediately pour the hot pectin mixture into the grape and sugar mixture.
  10. Stir constantly and vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth (no longer grainy). This will take approximately 2-3 minutes.
  11. Quickly pour the jam into clean, sterilized half-pint or pint plastic containers, leaving about 1/2 inch of headspace at the top.
  12. Wipe the rims of the jars clean.
  13. Seal the containers with lids.
  14. Let the jam stand at room temperature to cool completely.
  15. Refrigerate for immediate use or freeze for up to 1 year. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
