Zubereitung von Cherry Crescent Ring
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a large baking sheet.
- Reserve 5 fresh cherries for garnish. Chop the remaining cherries (about 1 cup).
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cherries, 4 ounces (113g) softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup (30g) slivered almonds, 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon almond extract. Mix well.
- Set aside.
- Separate one 8-ounce can (227g) of refrigerated crescent roll dough into 2 large rectangles.
- Overlap the long sides of four rectangles and firmly press edges and perforations to seal.
- Gently roll or pat the dough to form a 15x13 inch rectangle.
- Spread the cherry mixture evenly over the dough.
- Starting at the longer side, tightly roll up the dough, pressing the edges to seal.
- Place the roll, seam side down, on the prepared baking sheet.
- Form the dough into a ring, firmly pressing the ends together.
- Using a sharp knife, cut almost through the ring at 1-inch intervals.
- Gently turn each section slightly on its side.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown. If necessary, cover with foil during the last 5 minutes to prevent excessive browning.
- While the ring bakes, prepare the glaze (see glaze recipe below).
- Drizzle the warm crescent ring with glaze.
- Garnish with sliced almonds and the reserved cherries.
