Zubereitung von Honey Taffy
- Grease a large baking sheet with butter and set aside.
- In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Continue cooking, without stirring, until the mixture reaches the soft-crack stage (270-285°F on a candy thermometer).
- Carefully pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Let cool slightly until the taffy is just cool enough to handle (about 10-15 minutes).
- Butter your hands lightly. With a partner, gently pull and stretch the taffy until it becomes lighter in color and opaque. (This is the fun part!)
- Once lightened, pull into thinner ropes and cut into 2-inch pieces.
- Wrap each piece individually in waxed paper and twist the ends.
