  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and creamy, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of custard powder with 2 tablespoons of cold water until smooth.
  7. Stir the custard mixture into the rice mixture.
  8. Bring the mixture back to a simmer, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly (about 2 minutes).
