Cómo preparar Melon Mojito Slush

  1. Cut a thin slice from the bottom of the watermelon to create a stable base. Cut off the top of the watermelon.
  2. Using a spoon or melon baller, carefully scoop out the watermelon flesh, leaving a 1-inch thick shell.
  3. Reserve all the scooped-out watermelon. Roughly chop the reserved watermelon.
  4. Invert the watermelon bowl and place it in a large bowl to drain excess juice.
  5. Cover and chill the watermelon bowl while you prepare the mint syrup.
  6. In a medium saucepan, combine the mint leaves and sugar.
  7. Use the back of a wooden spoon to gently mash the mint leaves with the sugar until the leaves are bruised and fragrant.
  8. Add 1 cup of water to the saucepan.
  9. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  10. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the mint leaves.
