Comment préparer Flourless Orange And Chocolate Cake
- Microwave 1 large orange (about 200g) with 250ml of water in a microwave-safe bowl, covered with cling film, on high for 10 minutes. Turn halfway through. Repeat for another 10 minutes, or until very soft.
- Let the orange cool completely in the bowl, still covered.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease and flour a 20cm round springform tin. Line the base with baking parchment.
- Cut the cooled orange in half and remove any pips or seeds.
- Puree the orange in a food processor with 5 tablespoons (approximately 75ml) of the microwaved orange liquid until completely smooth.
- Add 150g caster sugar, 150g melted dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids or higher), 4 large egg yolks, and 1 teaspoon baking powder to the food processor. Process until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat 4 large egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour batter into the prepared springform tin and spread evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached. Cover the cake with foil after 30 minutes to prevent over-browning.
- Let the cake cool completely in the tin before releasing and serving. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
