How to Make Cheerios Treats
- In a large saucepan, heat 1/2 cup (120ml) of light corn syrup over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat immediately.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 cup (200g) of semi-sweet chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth.
- Add 5 cups (150g) of Cheerios cereal and stir gently but thoroughly until all pieces are evenly coated in the chocolate mixture.
- Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray. Pour the Cheerios mixture into the prepared pan and press firmly and evenly into the pan using a spatula or wax paper.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until completely set. Once firm, lift the treat slab from the pan and cut into 2-inch squares.
