How to Make Home Style Pear Sauce

  1. Combine 6 pounds of peeled, cored, and chopped pears, 1 cup of water, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a heavy-bottomed 8-quart pan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the pears are very soft and easily mashed. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
