- Gently fold 1/4 of the egg white mixture into the cream cheese mixture.
- Fold in the remaining egg white mixture until fully incorporated.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup hot water, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder (or 1/4 cup strongly brewed espresso), and 1 tablespoon of your favorite coffee liqueur (optional). Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Split the ladyfingers in half lengthwise.
- Arrange 20 ladyfinger halves, cut-side up, in the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Drizzle half of the espresso mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat layers with the remaining ladyfingers, espresso mixture, and cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the remaining whipped cream over the top.
