How to Make Baked Linguine With Meat Sauce
- Brown 1 lb ground beef and 2 cloves minced garlic in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in one (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Set meat sauce aside.
- Cook 1 lb linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
- Transfer the cooked linguine to the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup sour cream, 4 ounces cream cheese (softened), and 2 tablespoons chopped green onions.
- Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the linguine.
- Top with the meat sauce.
- Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the meat sauce.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
