How to Make Blackberry Brandy
- Sterilize three 500ml kilner jars.
- Evenly divide 1kg of fresh or frozen blackberries between the three jars.
- Add 750g granulated sugar, dividing it equally among the jars.
- Pour 1.5 liters of good quality brandy over the blackberries and sugar in each jar.
- Seal the jars tightly and shake them well to combine.
- Store in a cool, dark cupboard, shaking each jar every other day for one week. Then shake once a week for two months.
- After at least two months of steeping, carefully strain the brandy through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean 1-liter bottle, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Your Blackberry Brandy is ready to enjoy! The flavor will continue to develop and improve with age, if you can resist it!
