How to Make Easter Bunny Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans and one smaller pan (approximately 6 inches in diameter).
- Prepare your favorite vanilla cake batter (recipe below). Divide the batter evenly between the two 9-inch pans and the smaller pan.
- Bake the 9-inch cakes for 30-35 minutes, and the smaller cake for 20-25 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before inverting them onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cool, level the tops of the cakes if necessary. Place one of the 9-inch cakes on a serving platter. Top it with your favorite frosting (recipe below).
- Place the smaller cake (this will be the bunny's head) on top of the frosting, centering it.
- Frost the head and create a smooth surface. Add the second 9-inch cake on top.
- Frost the entire cake. Using two small round cakes (or cut them from scraps of the larger cakes), create the feet. Place these at the bottom of the cake, using extra frosting to attach and create a slight separation for the two layers.
- Decorate your bunny cake! Add candy eyes, a candy nose, and a ribbon bow. Get creative with sprinkles, frosting, and other fun Easter-themed decorations.
