How to Make Iced Coffee Slush

  1. In a large, freezer-safe bowl, combine 4 cups of strongly brewed coffee and 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
  2. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Refrigerate the coffee mixture for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.
  4. Add 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy), 1/2 cup heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the chilled coffee mixture.
  5. Stir well to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture into a shallow freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight, until solid.
  7. Remove from the freezer 2-3 hours before serving.
  8. Using a fork or immersion blender, chop and mix the frozen coffee mixture until it reaches a slushy consistency.
  9. For an extra-smooth slushy, you can optionally let it thaw for 2-3 hours, chop it with a knife until slushy, stir well, and then refreeze for about an hour before serving.
