Comment préparer Ginger Glazed Ham
- Preheat oven to 170°C (325°F). Score the ham in a diamond pattern, insert cloves into the scored squares.
- Place the ham in a roasting pan and bake for 45 minutes, basting occasionally with the glaze.
- While the ham is baking, prepare the glaze (see steps 4-8).
- Drain syrup from one 400g can of apricots, reserving 125ml of the syrup. Set aside the remaining syrup.
- In a small saucepan, combine the 125ml reserved apricot syrup, 100g granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons ground ginger, and 50g apricot jam. Melt over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Add enough water to the reserved apricot syrup to reach a total volume of 250ml.
- In a large shallow saucepan, combine the 250ml apricot syrup mixture, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, and 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar.
- Gently add the drained apricots, hollow-side down, to the saucepan. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the apricots cool in the syrup.
- Place a maraschino cherry in each apricot half.
- Arrange the glazed apricots around the ham during the last 15-20 minutes of baking time. Continue to bake until the ham is crisp and golden brown, about 65-75 minutes total.
- Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before carving and serving.
