Comment préparer Spice Bars
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease and flour a 10x15 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter and 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in 2 large eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, ½ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans and ½ cup raisins.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely in the pan before frosting.
- For the icing: Whisk together 2 cups powdered sugar and 2-4 tablespoons milk or water until smooth and pourable. Add more milk/water for desired consistency.
- Once the bars are completely cool, frost evenly with the icing.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
