  6. Spread the tuna mixture evenly over the bread layer. Sprinkle with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Trim 6 more slices of bread and butter the tops of each slice.
  8. Arrange the remaining buttered bread slices, butter-side up, over the tuna and cheese mixture.
  9. In a medium bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and a dash of hot pepper sauce (to taste).
