Ingredients for Basil Linguine
- 8 ounces linguine (fresh or dried)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh Basil
- Salt And Pepper
How to Make Basil Linguine
- Bring a large saucepan filled with 3 to 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add a generous pinch of salt.
- Add linguine to the boiling water. Cook for 3 minutes if using fresh linguine, or 9 minutes if using dried linguine, or until al dente.
- Reserve about 2 tablespoons of pasta cooking water before draining the linguine.
- Return the drained linguine to the pot. Add olive oil and toss to coat.
- Stir in the chopped basil. Add salt and pepper to taste. If the pasta seems too dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Basil Linguine!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
