How to Make Passover Rolls

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of margarine (kosher for Passover, if needed), and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the margarine is completely melted. This may take longer with kosher for Passover margarine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for approximately 5 minutes.
  7. Beat in 1 large egg until well combined.
  8. Add another egg and beat until smooth. Repeat until all 4 large eggs are incorporated and the mixture is completely smooth.
  9. Drop rounded tablespoons (approximately walnut-sized) of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each roll.
  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
