How to Make Steamed Milk
- In each of six glasses, add 1 tablespoon of honey.
- In a medium saucepan, heat 4 cups of milk over medium heat. Scald the milk until small bubbles appear around the edges (approximately 5-7 minutes).
- Remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 6 whole cloves to the warm milk.
- Cover the saucepan and let the milk steep for 20 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Return the saucepan to high heat and bring the milk to a gentle simmer (do not boil vigorously).
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully remove and discard the cloves.
- Pour approximately 2 cups of the hot milk into a blender. (Reserve remaining milk)
- Secure the blender lid and place a kitchen towel over the lid to prevent splashing.
- Blend on high speed until frothy, about 30 seconds.
- Pour the frothed milk into the prepared glasses, adding a layer of foam to each.
- Repeat steps 7-10 with the remaining hot milk.
- Gently stir each glass to dissolve the honey into the warm milk.
- Garnish each glass with a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg and serve immediately.
