- In a 1-quart glass measuring cup, combine the zest of 2 limes, 1 cup fresh lime juice (approximately 8-10 limes), and ¾ cup granulated sugar.
- Add enough water to reach the 4-cup mark on the measuring cup.
- Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably longer, to allow the flavors to develop.
- To serve, fill six 16-ounce glasses with ice cubes.
- Add ⅔ cup of the chilled limeade mixture to each glass.
- Gently pour ½ cup of red wine into each glass, allowing it to cascade down the side to maintain the beautiful layered effect.
- Thread a slice of nectarine onto each of six regular or party skewers and add one skewer to each glass.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
