Cómo preparar Chicken Onion And Apple Phyllo Rolls

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 1 medium onion, thinly sliced, and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until softened.
  2. Add 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced, to the pan. Stir, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is very soft and golden brown. Transfer to a medium bowl and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced), 1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried), 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to the bowl with the apples and onions. Mix well.
  4. Lay 12 sheets of phyllo pastry on top of each other. Cut the stack in half crosswise, creating two stacks of 6 sheets.
  5. Place one sheet of phyllo on your work surface with the long side closest to you. Keep the remaining sheets covered with a damp tea towel to prevent drying.
  6. Brush the phyllo sheet with 1 teaspoon of melted butter and cut it in half crosswise.
  7. Place about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture on the lower end of one phyllo half, about 1 inch from the edge.
  8. Fold the bottom edge over the chicken mixture, then fold in the sides, and roll up from the bottom, fully enclosing the filling.
  9. Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and chicken mixture. Cover the rolls with a separate damp towel.
  10. Brush the tops of the rolls with any remaining melted butter.
  11. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the chicken is heated through.
