Comment préparer Homemade Toffee
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy lifting. Lightly grease the foil with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter completely.
- Add the sugar, corn syrup, and water to the melted butter. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, without stirring, and clip a candy thermometer to the side of the pan. Continue to boil, swirling occasionally, until the thermometer registers 298°F (148°C) – the firm-ball stage.
- Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture onto the prepared foil. Using a spatula or spoon, quickly spread it into a thin, even layer.
- Let the toffee cool for approximately 2 minutes. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips evenly over the toffee.
- After another 2 minutes, spread the softened chocolate chips evenly. Sprinkle half of the chopped nuts over the chocolate.
- Carefully lift the toffee using the foil overhang and invert it onto a second sheet of foil. Immediately sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Let it cool for 2 minutes, then spread the chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with the remaining nuts.
- Let the toffee cool completely at room temperature (about 1-2 hours). Once completely cool, break into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
