  4. Return the browned beef to the pan. Pour in coconut milk and chili. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1-1.5 hours, or until beef is very tender.
  5. Stir in the cashew nuts and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Before serving, remove and discard the cinnamon stick, star anise, and cardamom pods.
