How to Make Almond Toffee Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Melt 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until melted and slightly bubbly. Remove from oven.
  3. Evenly sprinkle 1 ½ cups rolled oats and 1 cup graham cracker crumbs over the melted butter.
  4. Gently press the oat and crumb mixture into the bottom of the pan using the back of a large metal spoon.
  5. Evenly sprinkle 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup toffee bits, and 1 cup sliced almonds over the crumb mixture.
  6. Drizzle the entire mixture with 1 (14-ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the center is lightly browned.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately run a thin metal spatula or table knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the bars.
  9. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting.
  10. Cut into 48 bars.
  11. For Toffee-Fruit Bars: Substitute ½ cup snipped dried apricots for ½ cup of the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Follow steps 4-11.
