Ingredients for Awsome Ribs

  • Pork Baby Back Ribs
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1 bottle (12 ounces) of beer (optional, can substitute with additional BBQ sauce or broth)

How to Make Awsome Ribs

  1. Cut the rack of ribs into smaller portions of 2 or 3 bones each.
  2. Bring a large pot of water (about 6 quarts) to a boil.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes to the boiling water.
  4. Add the ribs to the seasoned water and boil for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the ribs from the water, drain well, and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your outdoor grill to high heat.
  7. Lightly coat the ribs with 1/2 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce.
  8. Grill the ribs over high heat for 5-10 minutes per side, until nicely charred.
  9. Transfer the grilled ribs to a slow cooker.
  10. Pour the remaining barbecue sauce (about 1/2 cup) and 1 bottle (12 ounces) of beer over the ribs. Ensure at least half of the ribs are submerged in the sauce mixture.
  11. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours.
  12. Check the ribs every hour. Add more beer (1/4 cup at a time) if the sauce becomes too thick. Stir gently to ensure all ribs are coated in the sauce.
  13. The ribs are done when the meat is easily falling off the bone. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
