How to Make Baked Ham With Pineapple
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Place ham in a large roasting pan.
- Score the ham surface with shallow diagonal cuts, creating diamond shapes. (Approximately 1 inch apart)
- Insert a clove into the center of each diamond. Use 20-30 cloves, or more to your liking.
- If using an uncooked ham, cover the roasting pan tightly with foil.
- Bake for 1.5 hours (covered if uncooked).
- If using an uncooked ham, refer to the ham package directions for internal temperature.
- In a small bowl, combine 1 cup packed brown sugar and 1/2 cup pineapple juice.
- Remove foil if used. Pour the brown sugar mixture evenly over the ham.
- Arrange drained pineapple rings and maraschino cherries on top of the ham. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Bake, uncovered, for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham registers 140°F (60°C) for fully cooked ham, or 160°F (71°C) for uncooked ham.
- Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
