How to Make Basil Pork Chops
- Trim excess fat from 4 (1-inch thick) pork chops.
- Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large oven-safe skillet (cast iron is ideal) over medium-high heat, brown the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side without added oil.
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil, and 1/4 cup chicken broth to the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C).
- Cover and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
