Ingredients for Bbq Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

  • Boneless Chicken Breasts
  • Barbecue Sauce
  • 8 ounces (1 cup) ginger ale

How to Make Bbq Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

  1. Place 2 lbs of partly frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a slow cooker.
  2. Pour 8 ounces (1 cup) of ginger ale over the chicken.
  3. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the chicken is easily shredded.
  4. Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and discard the cooking liquid.
  5. Shred the chicken using two forks directly in the slow cooker.
  6. Pour 1 ½ cups of your favorite barbecue sauce over the shredded chicken.
  7. Stir to coat the chicken evenly in BBQ sauce, and cook on low for another 2-4 hours, or until the chicken is extra tender and has absorbed much of the sauce.
  8. Serve the pulled chicken on hamburger buns. Garnish with your favorite toppings, such as coleslaw, pickles, or onion rings.
  9. Leftovers reheat beautifully!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
