How to Make Baked Pizza Steak
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a shallow dish, whisk together 1/2 cup all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Dip cube steaks (or chicken breasts) into the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add cube steaks (or chicken breasts) to the hot skillet.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook until browned on both sides, about 4-6 minutes per side.
- Transfer the browned steaks to a 3-quart baking dish.
- Top with 8 ounces sliced mushrooms and 1/2 cup sliced onions.
- Spoon 1 (24 ounce) jar of your favorite pizza sauce evenly over the steaks and vegetables.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
