How to Make Berry Grapefruit Cup
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Continue to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries to the saucepan.
- Cook until the cranberry skins have popped and the mixture has thickened, about 5-7 minutes more. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the cranberry mixture cool completely.
- While the cranberry mixture cools, section 2 large grapefruits, removing all the membranes and discarding any seeds.
- Once the cranberry mixture is chilled, gently pour it over the grapefruit sections in individual serving bowls or glasses.
