How to Make Caf Con Leche
- Preheat your French press by rinsing it with hot water.
- Add 60g of whole bean coffee to the preheated French press.
- Pour 400ml of freshly boiled water over the coffee grounds. Gently stir once to ensure all grounds are saturated.
- Place the lid on the French press, but do not press down the plunger.
- Allow the coffee to steep for 4 minutes.
- While the coffee steeps, heat the milk. Pour 400ml of whole milk into a small saucepan.
- Heat the milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a gentle simmer (small bubbles around the edges).
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to gently scald the milk. Do not boil.
- Once the coffee has steeped, slowly and carefully press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee.
- Divide the brewed coffee evenly among four mugs.
- Add an equal amount of the scalded milk to each mug of coffee (approximately 100ml each).
- Add sugar to taste. Stir well to combine.
- Garnish each mug with a dash of ground cinnamon, if desired.
- Enjoy your delicious Cafè con Leche immediately!
