How to Make Chocolate Chip Brownies
- Melt 3/4 cup (170g) of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter in a saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and melted. Remove from heat and set aside to cool to room temperature.
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Spread 1/2 cup (60g) walnuts on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then roughly chop.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the cooled melted chocolate mixture until well incorporated.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Add the remaining 1/4 cup (57g) chocolate chips and stir gently to distribute.
- Grease a 9x11 inch baking pan. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Do not overbake!
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into approximately 15 brownies.
