How to Make Easy And Delicious Pot Stickers

  1. In a medium bowl, toss 1/2 medium head of finely shredded green cabbage with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Wrap the cabbage in a double layer of paper towels and firmly squeeze out excess liquid.
  4. Return the cabbage to the bowl. Add 1 pound ground pork, 3 finely chopped scallions, 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon sesame oil.
  5. Mix well with a fork or your hands until thoroughly combined.
  6. Keep the remaining wonton wrappers covered with a damp towel to prevent drying.
  7. Spoon one level teaspoon of filling into the center of each wonton wrapper.
  8. Using dampened fingers, wet the four edges of the wrapper.
  9. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to form a triangle, ensuring the ends meet and the filling is centered.
  10. Press the edges firmly to seal completely.
  11. Place the assembled pot stickers onto an oiled plate and cover with a damp towel to keep them moist.
  12. Repeat steps 7-11 with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  13. In a 12-inch nonstick skillet with a tight-fitting lid, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  14. Add half of the pot stickers to the skillet and cook, turning once, until lightly browned, about 1 minute per side.
  15. Carefully add 1/2 cup water to the skillet, cover, and steam for 2-3 minutes, or until the pot stickers are translucent and cooked through.
  16. Repeat steps 13-15 with the remaining pot stickers and oil.
  17. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (soy sauce is a classic choice!).
