How to Make Lime Iced Tea

  1. Bring 4 cups (950ml) of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat and add 4-6 black tea bags (adjust to your preferred strength).
  3. Steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove tea bags without squeezing.
  5. While the tea is steeping, prepare the limeade: In a 2-quart heat-proof pitcher, whisk together 1 cup (240ml) lime juice (approximately 8-10 limes), 1 cup (200g) Splenda (or sugar to taste), and 1 cup (240ml) cold water.
  6. Pour the steeped tea into the pitcher with the limeade mixture and stir well to combine.
  7. Add 3 cups (710ml) of cold water to the pitcher. Stir gently. Allow to cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill thoroughly.
  8. Serve over ice. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and fresh mint sprig (optional).
