Ingredients for Another Holiday Spiced Tea
- Tea Bags
- 1/2 gallon (8 cups) water
- Whole Cloves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate
How to Make Another Holiday Spiced Tea
- In a large pot, bring 1/2 gallon (8 cups) of water to a boil.
- Add 6-8 tea bags (or 4 tablespoons loose leaf tea) to the boiling water. Steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove tea bags or strain the loose leaf tea.
- In a separate saucepan, combine 2 cups of water and 10 whole cloves. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is deeply amber-colored and strongly fragrant.
- Strain the clove-infused water through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the cloves.
- Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the brewed tea and stir until completely dissolved.
- Stir in 1/2 cup fresh orange juice and 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice.
- Add the strained clove water to the tea mixture.
- Pour the tea into a gallon jug. Add enough additional water to fill the jug to the top. Stir gently to combine.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
